Care that stops at the first visit rarely changes anything. After a clinic day or a period of support, our team returns to check on elderly beneficiaries, see whether treatment is working and arrange further help where it is needed.
Many elderly people in need are never counted because no one asks. Our outreach work goes into communities to find them, and brings donors and volunteers along.
Isolation hurts as much as hunger does. Alongside food and health support we offer presence, encouragement and connection to whatever other help exists.
Beneficiaries reach us through community referrals and door to door needs assessments in partner communities. Local volunteers and community leaders, who know their neighbourhoods best, help us find the elderly people most at risk of being missed.
Support does not end at the first delivery. We carry out check ups, and we follow up afterwards to see how each person is doing and whether the help is still needed or needs to change.
